Path - good system that could be improved
Our association has been on Path for about two years now. For the end users, the experience is outstanding. Logging on if you are a member or a non-member is easy tounderstand and use as the system integrates into our membership database. Support helps my users if they have questions about logging in.
Path allows a wide variety of files to be used for learning and is generous in its allowances for video files/bandwidth. You can use SCORM files and video, their system manages registrations/payments, issues CE certificates, and more. It is a solid system. You can integrate with GoToWebinar or Zoom (other platforms may be available but I'm unaware of what they might be).
Innovation seems to be limited at this time (summer 2022). For the past year, their improvements are minor tweaks, allowing admin to rearrange header and footer order and other useful but relatively unimportant changes. No changes to the user interface or design. Some additional behind-the-scenes updates have been useful and updates to Team Leader permissions are helpful if you use groups of users (Teams).
The area that needs to improve the most is reporting. There is a wide variety of reports, but a total lack of customization. This makes it difficult to download exactly what is needed to report CEUs and extracting the data from a course evaluation requires more patience than it should. Reports are generated with a common name without useful identifying information inside them. So if you are running several evaluations at the same time, you have to wait for them to run and a link arrives in your email and then save them before you run the next evaluation report since there isn't a way to identify the course they came from. In addition to the evaluation reports, the Dashboard information presents data that is hard to tie back to actual. While there are many reports, the fact that the admin can't select any customization of the available reports means there is a lot of work in Excel to create presentable data for committees/boards.
Overall Path is a good system, user-friendly, and also easy for the admin to use. The reports area is important to our association but given the number of reports provided, this issue might not impact another group as the reports provided are plentiful.
